Gem Machinery Company, founded in 1937, is not only the founder of China's petroleum equipment industry, but also the pioneer of "going out" to participate in international competition. In 2009, the UAE NDC Company's largest drilling rig procurement project was subject to global bidding, with a total bid value of more than US $0.3 billion. In the face of this is recognized as the world's "most stringent" drilling rig buyer, Gem Machinery stood out from 13 domestic and foreign competitors and became the only winning bidder. This was the largest order for the export of China's high-end oil drilling equipment at that time, and the gem machinery drilling rig represented China's petroleum equipment for the first time in the high-end market in the Middle East.
Due to the successful implementation of the first batch of orders, in 2013, Gem Machinery won NDC 2.62 billion yuan renewal order for the second time. In May 2015, it received a renewal order from 1.88 billion yuan for the third time, and the "Gem Machinery" brand became the mainstream brand for international high-end customers.
Entering the National Oil and Gas Drilling Equipment Engineering and Technology Center built by Baoshi Machinery, two young technicians are facing the display screen to operate the first domestic driller integrated control simulation system. They told reporters, "In the past, all such systems relied on imports. Now after our independent research and development is successful, foreign products will immediately reduce prices." The ability of independent innovation is the first trump card for gem machinery company to break into the international market. Today, there are more than 1200 technical R & D personnel gathered here, and research and development are closely coordinated with many university research institutions at home and abroad.
